Located at Serangoon Gardens, iSteaks Diner is a place that allows people to choose their steak cuts and let them get the best out of it. With a page on the difference between the cuts of steak, type of steak and texture you can expect in the menu, you’re sure to get the best out of your steak.
Laid out in a restaurant setting with seats for couples as well as groups and family, with soft and comfortable chairs provided to allow you to enjoy your meal. Ordering could be done just by scanning a QR code on the table and making payment online to send the order to the kitchen.
The kitchen is an open kitchen concept so you can see the busy staff working on your dishes whilst you wait for your food. The staff seemed to be quite efficient and the food does come quite timely for the type of dishes ordered.
Baked Herbed Butter Escargot ($14)
The baked herbed butter escargot was served in a bowl with a blend of herbs, spices and garlic butter. It was also provided with several slices of baguette to go with it. The baguette slices went really well with the sauce, with it soaking up all the buttery goodness. The texture of the escargot was tender and slightly chewy, providing a contrast to the smooth and creamy butter sauce.
Classic Italian Carbonara ($17.50)
The classic italian carbonara was well worth, with the spaghetti soaking up the creaminess and cheesiness of the sauce. The eggs and parmesan cheese helped to spice things up with a creamy and velvety texture whilst having a sharp, nutty taste. A generous amount of bacon was mixed into the dish, making it more than enough to get a bit of everything in every bite. The taste was a little on the strong side due to the bacon and cheese but if you’re a fan of cheese and bacon it’ll be just amazing.
AU Ribeye 200g Char Grilled (100 Days Bindaree) – Medium ($29)
We ordered an Australian grain-fed ribeye 200g char grilled steak cooked to medium doneness paired with baked potato and cream broccoli. The steak was tender and juicy steak with a bold, beefy flavor. The meat was enhanced by the char-grilled exterior, which adds a subtle smoky taste. The doneness was however not very even as whilst certain parts of the meat was medium doneness, some could be seen to be medium rare and other parts were medium well.
The baked potato was a little dry, with not as much sauce as we would have liked, hence we asked for more sauce for the potato. The cream broccoli was a little dry and could have been cooked a little longer. The cream added a different taste that helped to contrast the broccoli against the steak.
AU Ribeye 250g Char Grilled (100 Days Bindaree) – Medium Rare ($35)
With another order of the Australian grain-fed steak, we went for medium rare doneness to compare the difference. The medium rare doneness meat was more chewy and had a more juicy and tender bite. The beefy flavour was more intense with a springiness to the meat texture as well.
The sides ordered was cream spinach and parmesan asparagus to pair along with the steak. For a stronger tasting steak, having more greens helps to counter balance the taste and flavour profile of the full meal. The cream spinach was unexpectedly good, being better than the usual spinach found elsewhere and was worth a try to say the least. The cream had a creamy and tart taste which mixed well with slightly sweet spinach taste. The asparagus was buttery sweet with a hint of parmesan that could have been stronger in our opinion.

Set in a cosy corner of myVillage @ Serangoon Gardens, it is easily accessible and had quite a bit of a crowd when we went to visit on the weekend. iSteaks is a place that is family friendly and provides decent quality steaks at affordable prices. With a large selection of sides to choose from, you’d be sure that the kids would be happy choosing their sides and away at the steaks.
