Located just a short walk away from Bugis is an Italian restaurant that aims to be the pioneer of italian-singaporean cuisine. At Squisito, they make handmade fresh pasta daily, with Italian styled cooking as the main theme whilst adding in modern twists with various fresh ingredients.

Envisioning themselves as a place that can cater to all diners, they have multiple dining options available, ranging from Halal, Gluten free, Organic and Vegan dishes. Whilst the shop looks small at first glance, they can actually accommodate quite a number of customers as they also have a second floor.
Squisito also provides bentos and delivery as well as being open for private events and even having a prayer room available. As a place committed to letting everyone try italian cuisine, you should be able to find something that suits you in their menu.

Bisque di Gamberi ($12+)
The Bisque di Gamberi was made from crustacean shellfish, mixed with cream and topped with crab meat. The soup was a smooth, creamy texture with a slightly thick consistency.
It had a rich, seafood flavor that was both sweet and savoury. The natural sweetness of the shellfish was complemented by the creamy and buttery notes of the soup. The crab meat was generously given and added an additional depth to the dish. The soup was nice and creamy and left a pleasant aftertaste in the mouth that left us craving for more.

Soup of the Day – Mushroom ($8+)
The mushroom soup was filled with cut button mushrooms and small cubes of bread. The texture was smooth and creamy, with the tender mushrooms adding a light chewiness to each spoonful.
The soup’s consistency was a little thick however the soup had a tad too much pepper and the peppery taste permeated the soup. The mushroom soup could have been better with lesser pepper to allow more of the mushroom taste to dominate in the soup.

Gnocchi al Tartufo ($22+)
The Gnocchi al Tartufo was made of many small handmade potato dumplings that were soft and chewy to bite into. The sauce was a light and creamy mushroom sauce with a dollop of truffle on top. The fragrance of the truffle was strong and could be smelled when the dish arrived.

After mixing the truffle into the dish, the creamy sauce had a velvety texture that coats the soft and pillowy gnocchi, giving it a luxurious mouthfeel. The softness of the gnocchi kept it feeling light and fluffy, making the dish a joy to consume.

Ravioli Aragosta ($24+)
The Ravioli Aragosta was a lobster meat ravioli, a type of pasta stuffed with fillings similar to a dumpling, in a prawn bisque sauce. The sauce was similar to the Bisque di Gamberi except that it lacked the creaminess that the Bisque di Gamberi had as a soup.

The ravioli was soft and slightly chewy, with small chunks of lobster hidden within. The filling was creamy, with the lobster taste being light on the tongue. The ravioli was a great dish that left a seafood taste on the mouth and a pleasant mouthfeel with the doughy pasta and the soft and springy lobster meat.

Beef Wellington ($36+)
The beef wellington was one of their signatures at Squisito and we had to wait for 30 minutes for the dish. The beef tenderloin was coated in mushroom and pistachio pate and wrapped in turkey ham and puff pastry. The pate went well with the beef and the puff pastry added a nice texture to it with each bite.
The dish was actually hard to cut into nice slices hence we cut it up into portions and layered the ingredients ourselves on our spoon. The mashed potato was light and creamy, and the vegetables served to help balance the taste of the beef and pastry.

Squisito
Squisito was a place where we heard that they had amazing handmade pasta and they did not disappoint. The Bisque di Gamberi was creamy and delicious, the pasta dishes were very well received and the beef wellington was a nice and hearty dish.
The main highlights of the show were the Gnocchi al Tartufo and the Ravioli Aragosta. Whilst we did not get to try the other pasta dishes available, these two blew our minds, especially the Gnocchi al Tartufo which we’d recommend you to try.
