Located at Fusionopolis at One-North, Ristorante Pietrasanta is an Italian restaurant specialising in Tuscan dishes, with the chefs themselves being from the northern Tuscany regions. Bringing the cuisine to Singapore, they have been in Singapore since 2008.

The restaurant has both indoors and outdoors seating, allowing you to choose your ambience based on the weather and the vibes you would like to enjoy your food in.

Right off the bat, we started off with their Focaccia Bread as a starter. The Focaccia Bread is a hidden menu item which is’t listed on the menu but can be ordered if you request for them. The Focaccia Bread was really soft and fluffy and was great to start off with and we had it with the light olive oil provided.

Ordering the homemade tagliolini in tomato sauce, pesto and burrata, the pasta was al dente and fresh. Mixed with the pesto and burrata, the pasta was lightly sweet, sour and salty at the same time with a hint of the freshness of the garden. We felt that the dish was decent and captured the taste of the ingredients but did not awe us at all with the main taste leaning towards that of a generic tomato sauce based pasta.

The handmade fettuccine with pork and black truffle was a different dish and had a fragrance of truffle throughout the dish. Whilst it had a good mix of ingredients and truffle, the truffle could have been stronger and more contrast in the sauce could have been given to help compliment the taste of the truffle.

The handmade potato dumpling with crab meat, tomato and cream sauce on the other hand was excellent. With the right mix of proportions, the sauce mixes well with the doughy outer layer of the gnocchi. The gnocchi further gave way to the fillings within as you sink your teeth in. The whole dish generally had the taste of crab meat as it was mixed in throughout the dish.

We did not get to try their seafood dishes as the staff told us that the seafood dishes were their specialty but they were not available due to the lack of ingredients whilst we were there.
If you’re at Ristorante Pietrasanta and are looking for a fulfilling meal, do give the focaccia bread and the gnocchi al granchio a try especially if you’ve not tried gnocchi before. Whilst the portion size for the gnocchi is a little on the small side, the quality and satisfaction from the dish more than makes up for it.
