Are you fans of chicken based tonkotsu ramen? Ramen Keisuke is known for having each outlet specialising in a certain broth or dish and Tori King is no exception. Located at 100AM mall, Tori King specialises in chicken broth, with the delicious broth being slowly simmered with chicken bones and vegetables for over 8 hours.

Perks of dining at Ramen Keisuke is that there is always free flow eggs provided if you do not wish to get flavoured eggs. Whilst they are free, you would have to peel them yourself to add them to your meal. If they are missing from the table, you can just ask the staff for it. Do ask for a bag or plate as the shells can get messy really fast when you’re peeling it.

Beansprouts? Yes! These are also provided for free and they go really well with the ramen or just by itself. If the bottle provided for your table is finished, you can always ask for more. We love coming by Ramen Keisuke outlets as the beansprouts alone make it worth paying a visit.

Ordering the mainstay dish, we had the super rich chicken ramen. The soup was really rich, and yet it surprisingly didn’t have a lot of oil nor did it taste salty. The broth was quite enjoyable, with us irresistibly finishing the soup, so if you’re a fan of chicken you might just find this your next favourite dish.

We also ordered the chicken tsukemen with flavoured egg to try and it came dry with a bowl of dipping sauce. The flavoured egg was slightly overcooked and had a faint hint of the soy sauce. It could have been left marinated longer to absorb more of the soy sauce taste and the timing to get the perfect yolk should probably be adjusted a little.

Featuring the chicken drumstick, from what we know every Tori King dish comes with a chicken drumstick. The drumstick was really soft, with the meat peeling off from the bones easily when pulled apart with the chopsticks. The meat was tender and went well with the noodles, though it leaves us with the question of whether the chicken broth or the chicken drumstick tasted stronger of chicken.

The dipping sauce for the tsukemen was really thick and rich, with the flavour being more intense than the ramen soup. The noodles were springy and were coated with a fair amount of sauce after dipping resulting in a good balance of flavour.

After having the super rich chicken broth at Tori King, we can envision why people like chicken ramen when it’s done well. With the ramen soup already being super rich in taste, the tsukemen dipping sauce was way more intense and is recommended for chicken broth lovers. If you’re here to try Tori King, the super rich chicken ramen would be great for you to try. If you’re not a fan of having a strong broth, you may also opt for the lighter broth option available on their menu. Having said that, we still preferred our pork tonkotsu broth over the chicken based broth though it would provide a nice change in taste once in a while.
