With a brightly lighted and sleek interior, it looks really spacious and classy. Decked out with wooden floorings, mirrors and even a painting of Mount Fuji on the wall. Based on the founder, the tableware was brought over from Japan and cost well over $400,000 to help set the ambience for the diners.

When the ebi donburi came, we were surprised to find it filled with lots of ingredients. It was an oyako don filled with large breadcrumbed tiger prawns and soft small grains of Japanese rice. It was also topped with an egg, caramelised onions, seaweed, ebi roe and ikura roe.

The prawns were really huge, and fresh, with the breaded layer being crunchy with the freshly fried taste. The prawn flesh was firm and sweet, going well with the soft egg and fluffy rice. The dish as a whole blended well together with the onions providing a sweet aftertaste and the ikura roe giving surprise bursts of flavour.

Our favourite dish was Misato’s okonomiyaki, a huge pancake made with cabbage, egg and a lot of other ingredients. The okonomiyaki was thick and filled with many layers of ingredients.

It had a light sweet and savoury taste when mixing the sauce and the mayonnaise together with the bonito flakes adding a different texture to it. It was reminiscent of the okonomiyaki we had in Japan and stood out as a simple yet delicious dish.

The sweet and sour pork was a unique experience for us, with the sweet and sour pork served in fresh dragon fruits. The presentation of the dish was special for us and looked really good.

The dragon fruit was scooped out and also layered with the sweet and sour sauce. However, the dragon fruit felt weird as sour tasting dragon fruit gave us the impression of the fruit being not at its freshest.

Cooked on a special hoba leaf, the exquisitely soft and tender A5 Ohmi Wagyu beef was cooked using Misato’s own unique miso sauce. Featuring ginkgo nuts, shiitake mushrooms, maitake mushrooms, and many more different ingredients, the dish was mixed with lots of interesting textures and taste mixed together.

A5 Ohmi Wagyu beef is regarded as a premium cut even amongst wagyu and was amazingly cooked, perfectly medium rare. The light char and smoky aftertaste mixed together with the miso gravy paired really well with the melt in your mouth beef that leaves you craving for more once it’s finished.

Trying their signature dessert, we had the Matcha Bavarois. It was really wobbly, with it shaking a lot when we shaked it on the plate. The pudding was really delicate, with a strong matcha taste that was silky smooth and easy to consume.
