It celebrates our nation’s success\, resilience\, and the spirit of inclusivity\, community\, and trust that has seen us through 59 years of challenges and triumphs. \n\n\n\nPre-National Day Activities\n\n\n\nImage Credit: National Day Parade via website\n\n\n\nLeading up to the main event\, Singaporeans can look forward to a variety of activities\, including celebrations at the Padang and Promontory @ Marina Bay on 9 August\, and Heartland Celebrations at five locations on 10 August. \n\n\n\nNDP 2024 Theme Song: “Not Alone”\n\n\n\n\n\nNational Day Parade (NDP 2024) Theme Song “Not Alone”\n\n\n\nThe NDP 2024 theme song\, “Not Alone\,” is composed and performed by Benjamin Kheng. This song incorporates familiar lyrics from past NDP songs\, evoking nostalgia and reconnecting Singaporeans with patriotic sentiments. Its first-person perspective and melancholic lyrics validate our shared experiences\, while its uplifting second half fosters a sense of belonging and unity. \n\n\n\nNDP Celebrations at the Padang\n\n\n\nThe NDP 2024 celebrations will feature four main segments\, each reflecting the theme “Together\, As One United People”: \n\n\n\n1. Pre-parade\n\n\n\n\nPerformances by students from the Ministry of Education (MOE)\, local artistes\, and the Red Lions.\n\n\n\n\n2. United We Stand: The Parade and Ceremony (P&C)\n\n\n\n\nFeaturing a combined Military Tattoo by the SAF Band and four secondary school bands.\n\n\n\nThe Volunteer Contingent will return to showcase the role of every Singaporean in the nation’s defence.\n\n\n\nCrowd favourites such as the choir music video\, the State Flag Flypast\, Salute to the Nation\, the Presidential Gun Salute\, and Feu de Joie will be included.\n\n\n\nThe inaugural Onward March at Padang\, where marching contingents will engage more closely with spectators.\n\n\n\n\n3. Together\, We Are Strong: Total Defence 40 (TD40) Dynamic Defence Display (D3) \n\n\n\n\nShowcasing integrated Whole-of-Government and community responses to various threats\, including air and maritime threats\, civil emergencies\, and disruptions.\n\n\n\nCoordinated displays at the Padang and Marina Bay.\n\n\n\n\n4.
