BKK Bistro and Bar Tom Yum and Herbal Boat Noodles

Boat Noodles ($0.80)
We ordered many different variations of the thai boat noodles, mixing our orders with different variations of ingredients. We ordered multiple bowls varying between tom yum soup and herbal soup whilst also having either glass noodles or rice noodles. We then varied the ingredients, having pork balls, beef balls, pork slices and beef slices mixed throughout.

We first tried the tom yum Soup, which was a spicy and sour soup that was packed with flavour. The broth was well balanced, with a slight level of spiciness that was not overpowering, it had a nice kick to it but not too much. The size of the bowls were small and easy to finish in just a few mouthfuls.

Then, we moved on to the herbal soup variation, which was a dish that was packed with flavours and textures. The broth was rich and savoury, with a nice balance of flavours. The rice and glass noodles both went well with the soup and the ingredients. The noodles were cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of chewiness.

BKK Bistro and Bar Crispy Pork Belly Served with Honey Mustard Sauce

Crispy Pork Belly served with Honey Mustard Sauce ($10.80)
The crispy pork belly with honey mustard sauce was presented in 2 neat rows of severely deep fried pork belly. Whilst the pork belly looked really dry, it was exceptionally crispy on the outside and somewhat tender on the inside.

The honey mustard sauce added a nice flavour to the dish giving it a sweet and tangy depth of flavour that helped to balance out the oiliness of the pork belly.

BKK Bistro and Bar Deep Fried Tofu Topped with Chicken Floss

Deep Fried Tofu Topped with Chicken Floss served with Mayonaise Sauce ($7.80)
The deep fried tofu topped with chicken floss came in an unassuming plate looking very ordinary and basic. The texture of the dish was perfect, the tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with the chicken floss adding a nice texture to the dish.

The tofu had a nice light flavor that was perfectly complemented by the savoury and slightly sweet chicken floss. The dish also came with a side of mayonnaise that added an extra layer of flavour.

BKK Bistro and Bar Thai Street Gai Yang

Gai Yang ($15.80)
We next had gai yang, commonly known as thai street grilled chicken on the side. The dish looked like any normal grilled chicken and was served with a thai sweet chilli sauce. The grilled chicken was a tad dry and had to be eaten with the sauce to help moisturise it a little. It was on the disappointing side and could have been better.
