National Day Parade (NDP 2024)

This year’s National Day Parade (NDP) theme, “Together, As One United People,” underscores the collective strength of Singaporeans and the importance of unity. It celebrates our nation’s success, resilience, and the spirit of inclusivity, community, and trust that has seen us through 59 years of challenges and triumphs.

Pre-National Day Activities

Leading up to the main event, Singaporeans can look forward to a variety of activities, including celebrations at the Padang and Promontory @ Marina Bay on 9 August, and Heartland Celebrations at five locations on 10 August.

NDP 2024 Theme Song: “Not Alone”

The NDP 2024 theme song, “Not Alone,” is composed and performed by Benjamin Kheng. This song incorporates familiar lyrics from past NDP songs, evoking nostalgia and reconnecting Singaporeans with patriotic sentiments. Its first-person perspective and melancholic lyrics validate our shared experiences, while its uplifting second half fosters a sense of belonging and unity.

NDP Celebrations at the Padang

The NDP 2024 celebrations will feature four main segments, each reflecting the theme “Together, As One United People”:

1. Pre-parade

• Performances by students from the Ministry of Education (MOE), local artistes, and the Red Lions.

2. United We Stand: The Parade and Ceremony (P&C)

• Featuring a combined Military Tattoo by the SAF Band and four secondary school bands.
• The Volunteer Contingent will return to showcase the role of every Singaporean in the nation’s defence.
• Crowd favourites such as the choir music video, the State Flag Flypast, Salute to the Nation, the Presidential Gun Salute, and Feu de Joie will be included.
• The inaugural Onward March at Padang, where marching contingents will engage more closely with spectators.

3. Together, We Are Strong: Total Defence 40 (TD40) Dynamic Defence Display (D3)

• Showcasing integrated Whole-of-Government and community responses to various threats, including air and maritime threats, civil emergencies, and disruptions.
• Coordinated displays at the Padang and Marina Bay.

4. Our People: The Show

• Featuring four chapters and three connecting short films that tell the stories of Singaporeans.
• Mass performances, familiar songs, and emotive filmlets highlighting our collective strength, diversity, and unity.

NDP Celebrations at the Bay

For the first time, the NDP celebration will extend to the Promontory @ Marina Bay, co-organised with NTUC. Attendees can enjoy:

• Fireworks
• TD40 D3 maritime segment
• Aerial segments
• Stage performances
• Live telecast of NDP at the Padang.

Heartland Celebrations

On 10 August, co-organised with the People’s Association, five Heartland Celebration sites will host:

• Community group performances on stage.
• Static displays of SAF, SCDF, and SPF vehicles.
• Fireworks displays, carnivals, and family activities.
• NDP packs distribution (while stocks last).
